She hadn't used it in two years because of the leak problem. It was just real dusty and sitting next to her Keureg, which works great by the way. She gave me the Barista for free and I found this blog. I removed the spring and it works awesome. No leaks and real good, hot coffee (I used 5 teaspoons). Thanks "J" and everyone else. Friends had this and loved it so they gave me one. Sometimes the first cup does not leak but the second one always leaks. I got out my old coffee maker and am ready to donate the barista but have now removed the spring load so I will see if it works. I've had the leaking issue too and almost completely solved it by flipping the stopper up on the cup when I insert the cup to brew. Like right now I'm basically legitimizing her because I'm talking about her and proving to her fans that people like me just don't understand her and the mission she represents. So I try to abstain from talking about her (yes, I'm failing in that right now!). That's why I was bothered about Gibbs doing what he did. First of all it's just inexcusable behavior for a press secretary to stoop to those antics (I think); but secondly, and worse, he's giving Palin and her fans what they want. They thrive off the sense that they are an underdog fighting against media elites. I say, if you disagree completely with Palin, then don't rant about her, but give her space. Just ignore her. Don't give her attention. Her fans -- the tea partiers -- in my opinion, do represent real and justified grievances, and deserve answers, and need a leader. I'd be one of them if they weren't organizing behind such buffoons as Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin is not the person to be taking the hold of the populist rage.
